Fall Leaf Collection

Fall Leaf Collection begins October 10, 2023 

All leaves must be placed in biodegradable paper bags or open containers weighing no more than 75 lbs. for collection.

LOOSE LEAVES WILL NOT BE PICKED UP.

Collection is by zone as follows:

NORTH END

 Monday: North side of Quaker Ridge Road to Scarsdale border.
Tuesday: North side of Eastchester Road, Beechmont Drive and Barnard Road, to the south side of Quaker Ridge Road.

SOUTH END

Wednesday: North side of Metro North Railroad to the south side of Eastchester Road, Beechmont Drive and Barnard Road

Thursday: South of Metro North Railroad

If a holiday occurs on any of the scheduled pickup days, Friday is the alternate pickup day. There will be no collection Thanksgiving week.

Yard waste collection concludes the end of October. Do NOT mix yard waste with leaves.


Leaf Collection Do's and Don'ts

DO

-Place leaves in brown recycling bags for pickup OR mulch mow your lawn.

DON'T

-Put leaves in plastic bags

 -Pile loose leaves at the curb.

LOOSE LEAVES WILL NOT BE PICKED UP AND MAY RESULT IN FINES FOR THE PROPERTY OWNER


Leaf Blowers 

Gas-powered leaf blowers are permitted only from October 1 through May 31, Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and on Saturdays from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. However, during the months of suspension June 1-September 30 the ban may be lifted in an emergency. Any suspension will be posted on the City's newsflash
