1. How do I obtain a birth certificate?

To obtain a birth certificate:

• The person applying must have been born in the City of New Rochelle.
• The birth certificate must be for the applicant or their child.
• Step parents, aunts, uncles, and grandparents cannot obtain birth certificates unless they have court order guardianship documentation.
• The person applying must have an official current ID, such as a driver’s license / non-driver’s license issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles, passport, or two current utility bills.

2. How do I obtain a marriage license?

To obtain a marriage license:

• You must have a valid photo ID and original birth certificate.
  
• If this is not your first marriage, you must bring in a certified copy of the judgment of divorce.
• Your marriage must take place in New York State and within 60 days of obtaining your marriage license. There is also a 24-hour waiting period after obtaining a Marriage license.

3. How long will it take to receive a marriage transcript through the mail?

Marriage transcripts go in the mail the same that we received it.
