Priority will be given to New Rochelle individuals and families who, at the time of application, live in New Rochelle. Other preferences which may apply include: senior citizens age 62 and over; people with disabilities; and families whose income household is at or below 30% of the median income. Date and time of application submission will control the waiting list order. Applicants must either be a citizen or have eligible immigration status.

Non-New Rochelle residents will be required to rent up within City of New Rochelle limits for the first 12 months. Placement on our waiting list does not constitute Section 8 eligibility. When your name comes to the top of the list you will be asked for detailed documentation on your household income, family composition, preference, residency, and citizenship or eligible immigration status. The average wait on our list for those with a preference is over 2 years.
