[ARCHIVED] New Rochelle Police Department to Hold Annual Memorial & Awards Ceremony

coincide with National Police Week (May 15-21) the New Rochelle Police Department will host their annual Memorial & Awards Ceremony at 9:00am on Wednesday, May 18th at the Greentree Country Club. City officials, Law enforcement officials and families will gather Wednesday morning to pay tribute to NRPD officers who lost their lives in the line of duty and recognize the accomplishments of nearly 100 members of the department. Three New Rochelle elementary students will read their winning Police Memorial Essays.

This year’s keynote speaker will be New York City Detective Steve McDonald, who in 1986 was shot in the line of duty by a teenage gunman and paralyzed from the neck down. Today, he is a sought-after speaker regarding gun violence and the power of forgiveness.
