[ARCHIVED] Fazzino Sculpture Installation Kicks Off ArtsFest 2013

A sculpture created by internationally acclaimed artist Charles Fazzino to honor New Rochelle’s 325th Anniversary was installed at New Rochelle City Hall on Friday, September 27.

The piece, aptly entitled “The 325th Anniversary of New Rochelle”, depicts the very best in New Rochelle for the past 100 years. The sculpture is located on the first floor, in front of the City Council Chambers.

In June, the sculpture was unveiled at the City’s 325th Anniversary Gala along with an original print created by Fazzino for this special anniversary year. Copies of the print are available for a donation of $10.

The art installation kicked off the City’s annual “ArtsFest” Arts and Culture Festival on Saturday and Sunday September 28 and 29, sponsored by the New Rochelle Council on the Arts.

The 325th Celebration continues this fall with the BID “Family Days Go Global for the 325th” in October and November, New Rochelle Opera’s “French Connection” at New Rochelle Public Library on October 27, 325th Timeline Exhibit Reception at New Rochelle Library on November 17, 50th Annual Thanksgiving Parade on November 23, Homecoming Showcase on November 30 and finally the end of year celebration on December 31. For a full calendar and more information on the 325th Anniversary visit the City’s website www.newrochelleny.com and Facebook page facebook.com/newrochelleny325.
