[ARCHIVED] E-ZPass Tags Now Available at New Rochelle City Clerk’s Office

New Rochelle is now selling prepaid E-ZPass tags as a convenience and cost savings for area residents and travelers. The pre-packaged tags, called “E-ZPass-on-the-Go”, are available for $25 at the New Rochelle City Hall, City Clerk’s Office at 515 North Avenue, New Rochelle, NY 10801. Tags may be purchased for 2-axle cars, trucks and vans for private use only and not for business or commercial use.

“Local availability of E-ZPass tags is a tremendous benefit for our community and our visitors,” said New Rochelle City Clerk Bennie Giles. The City Clerk’s Office counter is open from Monday-Friday 8:30 AM to 4:15 PM.

The tags have a $25 value and are active upon purchase. The first $15 is immediately available for toll payments, while the remaining $10 becomes available once the tag is registered. The convenient, pre-packaged tags must be registered within 48 hours of first use either online or by calling E-ZPass (800) 697-1554.

E-ZPass provides a savings of five percent on all Thruway tolls and is accepted in 15 states: Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Virginia, and West Virginia.

Additional money can be added to the E-ZPass tag either online or at any E-ZPass location. New tags can also be linked to existing E-Z Pass accounts issued by the New York State Thruway Authority (tags that begin with numbers 004).

NOTE: The New Rochelle City Clerk’s office offers sale of the prepackaged “E-Z Pass on the Go” only and does not offer any other E-ZPass account services. For more information about E-ZPass and the On-the-Go program, visit www.e-zpassNY.com/onthego.
