Global Jazz Community, in partnership with the City of New Rochelle and The New Rochelle Industrial Development Agency, presents "The 3rd Annual Queen City of The Sound International Jazz Festival" in New Rochelle, NY

A revival of Jazz has emerged in New Rochelle, New York! New Rochelle is becoming the next jazz destination by hosting its 3rd "Queen City of the Sound International Jazz Festival”, Westchester’s County's premier international jazz festival.

DATE AND LOCATION OF JAZZ FESTIVAL

Saturday, September 30th, 2023 @12 PM - 6:30PM Ruby Dee Park, 1 Library Plaza, New Rochelle, New York. Free and live performances by world class musicians. Lawton Street will be closed for this event to offer/accommodate food trucks and local vendors to the public. Free parking for the festival at both Library lots and the Train Station garage upper deck is available.

ENGAGING WITH THE COMMUNITY

The 3rd Annual Queen City of The Sound International Jazz Festival offers an additional opportunity for community members to actively participate in New Rochelle's Mobile City Hall, featuring the offices of City Clerk, Public Information and Police Department. This initiative fosters resident engagement and interaction with local leaders and initiatives.

Featured musicians performing at the "Queen City Of The Sound International Jazz Festival" in New Rochelle include 7x Grammy Award winner, Saxophonist, Mitch Frohman & the Bronx Horns; Grammy and Latin Award winner, Saxophonist, Peter Brainin and The Sounds of Brazil, featuring vocalist Jamile; the Global Allstar Women’s Band featuring Dinah Vero; the Rocky Middleton Jazz Ensemble featuring Saxophonist Abraham Burton, Oscar Feldman Quintet celebrating the music of Gato Barbieri; the world class artistry of the Jazz Masters and GJC Patriarchs Jimmy Owens; Eddie Henderson and Louis Hayes and more!

Bringing this talent to New Rochelle is Global Jazz Community, an organization dedicated to the presentation, understanding, and preservation of jazz music. Recognizing the metamorphic benefits of jazz and the reach this genre has on the world, New Rochelle Industrial Development Agency (IDA) has partnered with Global Jazz Community and sponsored this event. This births new life and adds to the transformation of New Rochelle through this musical art form.
