NewRoAlert message sent Friday, June 16:
This coming Monday, New Rochelle City Hall will be closed for business, but will host a signature Juneteenth event, featuring a flag-raising, jazz concert, art exhibit, and food vendors. For a full schedule of Juneteenth commemorations throughout the month, visit the Facebook page TLPCJuneteenthCelebration.
Other activities this summer include the Friday farmers market at Paine Cottage and soon a new Sunday farmers market Downtown. Every Saturday evening, enjoy a free concert at Library Green, and starting later this month, the Summer Sounds Concert Series kicks off at Hudson Park on Wednesdays and New Ro Parc on Fridays.
Hudson Park Beach is now open on weekends and will be open full-time starting June 24. And mark your calendar for the Spark the Sound fireworks on Tuesday, July 4.
If you’re an artist, crafter or vendor, applications are now open for the Street Fair in September and the Holiday Market in November and December.
Lastly, keep in mind that DPW will follow a holiday collection schedule* next week. And please also remember that gas-powered leaf blowers are prohibited through the summer. To report violations, contact the Police Department at 914-654-2300.
