Applications Now Available for Youth Summer Employment Programs

New Rochelle youth and young adults are encouraged to apply for summer positions through the New Rochelle Youth Bureau’s Summer Employment Programs. Each program operates 20 or 25 hours per week for six weeks during July and August and pays $15.00 per hour. The deadline to apply is May 12.

“We are excited about all the different programs and services being offered this summer to our local teens and young adults,” said New Rochelle Youth Bureau Executive Director Kelly Johnson.  

Summer Youth Employment Program:
This program provides youth ages 14 - 24 with job readiness skills training and actual work experience. Income eligibility is required. Payments in the amount of $300.00 per week are based on (20) hours per week.

TANF Summer Youth Employment Program:
This program provides youth ages 14 - 20 with job readiness skills training and actual work experience. Income eligibility is required. Payments in the amount of $375.00 per week are based on (25) hours per week. All youth must meet TANF income guidelines. Funded by the Westchester/Putnam Local Workforce Investment Board (contingent upon funding).

Potential Candidates Internship Program:
Young adults ages 18- 24 will benefit from internships in governmental departments, local community-based agencies, and/or programs. No income eligibility.  Funded in part by the New York State Office of Children & Family Service and contingent upon current State funding.

*NEW* ‘Access Equestrian’ Employment Program:
This program provides youth with special needs ages 14 - 21 with job readiness skills training and actual work experience. No Income eligibility is required.

Learn & Earn Program
Youths ages 14-18 can learn about potential vocations and more in these specialized programs. Proof of income is required. Offered in the following career areas:

    NRYB Girls on Fire Firefighter Program

    Mentors in Blue Police Academy

    Future CEOs Entrepreneurship Program

    Ecology Ambassadors

Applications for all programs are available 8:30AM - 4:30PM Monday-Friday in the Youth Bureau office, 515 North Avenue, New Rochelle, and online at www.newrochelleny.com/youthjobs. The application deadline is Friday, May 12, 2023. For more information, contact the Youth Bureau at 654-2045.
