This is the City of New Rochelle with a weather advisory and a reminder about the holiday collection schedule.

High winds and heavy rain are predicted for our area starting late today through Friday evening, with the potential for power outages.  Please exercise caution if traveling.

If you lose electricity, contact Con Edison at 1-800-75CONED or online at coned.com, where you can also learn how to sign up for text alerts to your cell.  To report downed trees on roads, call the New Rochelle Police at 914-654-2300.  And always stay clear of downed power lines.

Please remember that the next two weeks will follow a holiday collection schedule, with no pickup on either Monday, and paper recycling both weeks.  Garbage will be collected on those Tuesdays and Thursdays in the north end, and on Wednesdays and Fridays in the south end.  Paper recycling will be picked up on both Thursdays in the north, and both Fridays in the south.

This has been Mayor Noam Bramson, wishing you a safe a joyful holiday season and New Year.
