This Fall, in partnership with Global Jazz Community, New Rochelle Corporation for Local Development (CLD), City of New Rochelle Business Improvement District, New Rochelle Council of the Arts, and the New Rochelle Department of

Parks and Recreation, join the Department of Development, through its Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI), in celebrating New Rochelle’s 2nd Annual Queen City of the Sound International Jazz Festival at Ruby Dee Park in Downtown New Rochelle on October 8th from 1:00 – 6:00 pm. Raindate Sunday, October 9th

Highlighting local performers and globally acclaimed musicians, the Jazz Festival will feature such artists as 3-time Grammy winners Oscar Hernandez & the Spanish Harlem Orchestra, the David Lee Jones Quartet, the Rocky Middleton Jazz Ensemble, and many more. International food and artisan crafts will be available from local vendors throughout this exciting afternoon of music and fun.

Through NRVR, the City’s community engagement platform, New Rochelle residents will have the opportunity to provide valuable feedback about the City’s Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) projects, especially The LINC project, and how they can contribute to the City’s future at the event. The public will have the opportunity to experience the conceptual proposal of the future park in virtual reality.

Beginning at 11 AM, valet-assist service will be available for all visitors to assist with parking in the lot behind the library. Valet booths will be located at Lawton Street and Memorial Highway. To accommodate the event, Lawton Street will be closed for one block south of Huguenot Street to make room for food trucks and crafters. A special service Circuit shuttle route will be available at select stops along Memorial Highway from Lincoln Avenue and Union Avenue to Ruby Dee Park.

“New Rochelle is blessed with extraordinary artistic and musical talent,” said New Rochelle Mayor Noam Bramson. “Through events of this kind, in the heart of a growing downtown filled with cultural energy, we have an opportunity to enjoy and celebrate the creative spirit that makes our community special.”

“Listening to the voices of the community as we celebrate with world-class music, we are excited to support and facilitate this cultural growth and expansion through New Rochelle’s expansive Downtown Revitalization Initiative,” said New Rochelle Development Commissioner Adam Salgado.
