[ARCHIVED] NRPL Free Family Fun Day

NRPL Family Fair_2021_Dance Party

The New Rochelle Public Library, 1 Library Plaza, will host a SuperHero-themed Family Fair on Sunday, October 2, 2022, 1:00 - 5:00 pm.

The day will feature a number of activities for children of all ages including a magic show with magician JoshyK, dance party with DJ Smithyboy, special visit by Spider-Man, teen video game tournament, carnival games, costume making, raffle prizes, an obstacle course, interactive manga art demonstration, and more. Attendees of all ages are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite SuperHero or comic book character and to participate in a costume parade as part of the festivities.

“Family Fair is designed to bring New Rochelle residents from all parts of the city into the Library for an afternoon of fun and also highlight the breadth and depth of  Library resources available to the community”, said Tom Geoffino, Library Director. “The theme of the event is SuperHeroes, and aligns perfectly with the notion that reading is a superpower”, commented Geoffino.

Family Fair is made possible through the generous support of the New Rochelle Public Library Foundation (NRPLF), a volunteer fundraising and advocacy organization working to ensure the future well-being of the Library.

“The Foundation’s goal is to support Library initiatives that enhance opportunities for lifelong learning, exploration and public discourse”, said Chris Selin, President, NRPLF. “Family Fair is a way to introduce, or re-introduce the Library to our community. We hope that in the months, and years to come, families will continue to take advantage of all the Library has to offer”, said Selin.

The event is free and open to all. Registration is requested at

The New Rochelle Public Library (NRPL) is a community resource that seeks to improve the life of every citizen in our city. The Library offers a comprehensive print and digital collection that includes retrospective and current materials, up-to-date technology for public use, and a wide range of community services and programs tailored to a diverse audience. Chartered in 1894, NRPL is a school-district library with its own operating budget and a Board of Trustees composed of seven elected members. It has served the 79,000 residents of New Rochelle from its Main Library building in the downtown business district since 1979. A smaller branch, located in the park in front of the New Rochelle High School, was restored through a grassroots effort and currently operates as the Huguenot Children’s Library. Learn more at
