The New Rochelle Police Department is making summer a little bit cooler. In July and August, the P.A.C.T. (Police And Community Together) Unit will be escorting a Mister Softee ice cream truck to different neighborhoods throughout the City, offering free cones to residents.
The event debuted on Saturday, July 16 at the “Taste of Union” on Fourth Street in the West End, where hundreds of cones were distributed! On future dates the truck will be mobile in a few locations as follows, with additional stops possible as they travel between sites:
- Thursday July 28, 6-8PM: South End, from Hudson Park/NRPD Harbor Unit Building, the VFW Tot Lot and Library Green
- Thursday August 11, 6-8 PM: East End, to Stephenson Park and the Parkside Place Apartments
- Saturday August 13, 1-3PM, North and Central, to Pinebrook Park area and Lincoln Park.
- Thursday August 25, 6-8PM Central and South, including New Rochelle Municipal Housing Authority, Bracey Houses, Heritage Homes, 50 Sickles Ave and 111 Lockwood Ave.
