[ARCHIVED] July is Parks and Recreation Month

Parks and Recreation month

A month of activities celebrate July as “Parks and Recreation Month.”  For swimmers and bathers, Lincoln Park Pool has opened for the season. Hudson Park Beach is open daily through Labor Day- admission is free and with the Parks Passport, parking is free, too.

Enjoy special events all summer long

Every Wednesday night July 6 – August 24 the Hudson Park Bandshell comes alive with the Emil Paolucci Summer Sounds Concert Series presented by the New Rochelle Council on the Arts, with an expanded Friday concerts series through the end of August at New Ro Parc in the heart of the downtown.  All concerts feature a different food truck and the Wednesday concerts are preceded by free yoga at 6 PM sponsored by the Hudson Park Children’s Greenhouse. In celebration of our Sister City relationship, the New Rochelle Jazz Festival is at Five Islands Park on Friday, July 15 and the Hudson Park bandshell on Saturday July 16.

And there’s more! Enjoy New Rochelle’s beautiful waters on a kayak or paddleboard through L.L. Bean Discovery program at Five Islands Park, or learn to sail at the Port Sailing School at the New Rochelle Marina Try out a bike or electric scooter through VeoRide. Catch the NY Empire Ultimate Disc League at a home game at City Park; admire the community gardens at Ward Acres and Lincoln Park; or, take your dog to Paws Place at Ward Acres, the county’s largest dog park and winner of the Best of Westchester People’s Choice Award!
