[ARCHIVED] NRPD Launches “NRPDHireMe” Recruitment Campaign

NRPDHIREME Social

The New Rochelle Police Exam is being offered on September 18th, and recruitment has taken a new twist. A new campaign, “NRPDHireMe”, inspires applicants to think about their motivation for taking the test.

“It’s a new take on traditional recruitment,” explained Lt. Ed Hayes.  “This message is both an outreach and a challenge to the next generation of officers, whose ideas, energy, empathy and enthusiasm will join with ours to get us to the next level. They are our future.”

The New Rochelle Police Department has been recognized nationally and internationally for excellence, receiving numerous awards over the years for Quality in Law Enforcement and Community Policing. The City of New Rochelle has also consistently ranked as one of the top safest cities among similarly-sized municipalities nationwide.

The exam to become a police officer will be held on Saturday, September 18, but the deadline to file for the exam is Thursday, August 12 at 4:00 PM. Candidates must be legal residents of Westchester, Putnam, Rockland, Nassau County, Bronx, Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn or Staten Island at the time of application and at least 19 years of age on or before September 18th, 2021.

Applications to take the New Rochelle Police Officer exam are available online at NRPDHireMe.com, NRPD headquarters, 95 Lincoln Ave, 50 Sickles Avenue, the public library, and houses of worship throughout New Rochelle. Completed applications must be brought in person to the Civil Service Office along with two forms of ID during business hours. City Hall will remain open on Tuesday July 27 until 7PM to accept applications.

The website, NRPDHireME.com with a QR code for scanning, is also on many of our police vehicles. Learn more at www.NRPDHireMe.com
