On June 10^th, at approximately 11:02 p.m., New Rochelle Police Department Officers observed an occupied, parked vehicle on Crescent Avenue. The Officers knew the identity of one of the occupants, and knew that he had an outstanding warrant for criminal contempt that occurred on May 15^th, 2021.

Subsequent investigation resulted in the recovery of a loaded .9mm handgun with a 30-round extended magazine, along with a bag of 30 rounds of .9mm ammunition, from the vehicle.

 The following suspects were arrested:

Wilmer Maldonado, aged 20, of New Rochelle; charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon Second Degree and Unlawful Possession of Certain Ammunition Feeding Devices-Not in Home.

Janetti Oceguera-Coyt, aged 20, of New Rochelle; charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon Second Degree and Unlawful Possession of Certain Ammunition Feeding Devices- Not in Home.

Daniel Barcenas, aged 20, of New Rochelle; charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon Second Degree; Unlawful Possession of Certain Ammunition Feeding Devices- Not in Home; Criminal Contempt -Second Degree-Disobey Court Order and Aggravated Harassment.

Abel Coyt, aged 35, of New Rochelle; charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon Second Degree and Unlawful Possession of Certain Ammunition Feeding Devices- Not in Home.

Further investigation by New Rochelle Police Detectives resulted in Abel Coyt, Maldonado and Barcenas being charged with Attempted Murder Second Degree and Reckless Endangerment First Degree in connection with an incident which occurred on April 30^th at 11:35 p.m. in the vicinity of Union Avenue & Fourth Street, in which shots were fired by Coyt into a moving vehicle. Additionally, a warrant was filed on Jair Barcenas, aged 18 of New Rochelle, charging him with Attempted Murder Second Degree and Reckless Endangerment First Degree in connection with the April 30^th shooting. It is anticipated that he will be booked on June 14^th. 

It is believed that the depicted handgun, recovered during the arrest of the four above suspects,

is the same handgun used by Coyt during the April 30^th incident.
