On April 16th, at approximately at approximately 7:00pm, New Rochelle Police Officers conducted a traffic stop on Division Street of a vehicle that was displaying a fraudulent temporary tag. The driver, Kevin Lopez aged 35 of Mamaroneck, New York was subsequently arrested for the fraudulent tag and a suspended license. An inventory search of the vehicle revealed a loaded Taurus 9mm semi-automatic handgun underneath the driver seat and cocaine in the center console. Lopez was charged with Possession of a Forged Instrument Second Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon Second Degree-Loaded Firearm, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance Third Degree, Endangering The Welfare of A Child and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation Second Degree.
