Due to public health concerns related to COVID-19 coupled with the closure of New Rochelle Public School buildings until September, traditional New Rochelle Parks and Recreation day camps are cancelled for summer 2020. However, with some ‘outside the box’ thinking, the Parks and Recreation staff is proud to announce a free summer outdoor program, “Outside the Box in our Parks”.
“Outside the Box” programs will run Monday through Friday for 6 weeks, from July 13th to August 21st on a rotating basis at 10 parks throughout the City. All activities will observe safe social distancing for 1-2 hour time blocks and be limited to 15-20 children per group. Program classes include fitness, STEM, gardening and more, and special events like Truck Day and Scavenger Hunt.
Registration kicks off on Wednesday, June 17th. Parents may register by calling Parks & Recreation at 914-654-2088 or by visiting www.NewRochelleNY.com/outsidethebox. For more information or questions, email Info@NewRochelleNY.com
