[ARCHIVED] LWV of New Rochelle Candidates Forum Oct. 21 for City and County Election

The  Candidate Forum for City and County Office at City Hall on Monday, October 21 will be cablecast live on Optimum Channel 75 and Verizon FIOS Channel 28.  The schedule for the Forum, sponsored by the League of Women Voters of New Rochelle, is as follows:   

  • 6 pm: Incumbent District 10 County Legislator Damon Maher (D,WF), and challenger Christopher Garitee (R,C, I).  
  • 6:45 pm: Incumbent New Rochelle Mayor Noam Bramson (D, WF) and challenger Brendan Conroy (R,C,I). 
  • 7:30 pm: District 1 incumbent New Rochelle councilman Louis Trangucci (R,C,I) and challenger Martha Lopez (D,WF).   District 5 candidates are Sara Kaye (D,WF) and Sarah Langlois (R,C,I); Councilman Barry Fertel is not seeking another term.  All four candidates will appear together. Candidates for the remaining four districts are running unopposed.

An experienced League moderator from outside the city will conduct the Forum.  After opening statements, candidates will answer questions submitted in writing from the audience. The public is also encouraged to email questions ahead to  lwvnewrochelle@gmail.com.

The forum will be video recorded, and a replay schedule will be announced. For further information on the Forum, contact royjoanalex@yahoo.com. Entrance to City Hall is from the parking lot entrance at the rear of the building. Information on the candidates also can be found at  www.vote411.org.
