17th Annual Snapper Fishing Derby

New Rochelle Parks and Recreation will host the 17th Annual Kids Snapper Fishing Derby at Hudson Park on Sunday, September 8, 2019 from 9AM to noon. The event is presented in honor of founder and marina advocate, the late Robert A. Cerreta, and is sponsored by Friends of New Rochelle Parks.

The derby is open to New Rochelle youth ages 6-16. All bait and tackle will be supplied but participants must bring their own fishing gear and must be accompanied by an adult. Prizes will be given for first, 2nd & 3rd place contestants, and participants will receive free t-shirts along with hot dogs and water at noon!

To register or for more information contact the Marina at (914) 235-6930 or visit www.newrochelleny.com/marina

Robert Ceretta was remembered for his passion for fishing, instilled by his mother who first took him to fish at Hudson Park as a young boy. He worked hard to pass on this same pleasure to younger generations. He was a longtime member of the New Rochelle Advisory Committee on the Waterfront and also served as the Chief Ranger of the New Rochelle Forester’s Club of America
