“9/11: Serve + Remember” is an annual day of service presented by Volunteer New York! and Westchester County to honor the lives of those lost or forever changed by the tragic events of Sept. 11, 2001.
This year several 9/11: Serve + Remember projects will once again benefit local New Rochelle nonprofits on Saturday, September 7, Sunday September 8 and Wednesday, September 11th. To see the list and register for these events visit www.volunteernewyork.org/newrochelle or call 914-948-4452.
“This is an opportunity for all members of the New Rochelle community to come together in the spirit of unity, determination and remembrance,” said New Rochelle Mayor Noam Bramson. “Whether you are packing back to school supplies at the Boys & Girls Club, engaging with senior citizens, volunteering for the 7th Annual New Rochelle Street Fair or at another site, we can all do our part to build a stronger community in which everybody counts.”
In the past few years local volunteers contributed back thousands of hours in remembrance of 9/11.
