[ARCHIVED] New and Expanded Downtown Farmer's Market Opens

Summer’s here and Downtown New Rochelle has an all-new and greatly expanded New Rochelle Farmers Market offering the best produce and foods the Hudson Valley has to offer. The New Rochelle Farmers Market is held weekly on Saturdays at Ruby Dee Park at Library Green, from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm, through October.

The expanded market will offer luscious local fruits, organic greens, artisanal breads and cheeses, pickles, home-made desserts, locally-roasted coffee, hand-crafted soaps, pasture-fed meat, and gorgeous fresh cut flowers from local farms at the Sprig Flower Truck. There will be market food preparation demonstrations and a knife-sharpener will be there on the first Saturday of every month, including opening day.

Live music and special events for children ensure a fun time for eth entire family. This is a whole new market, with a whole new attitude, is run by Morning Glory Markets, the same folks who run the popular Farmers Markets in Hastings-on-Hudson, Bronxville, Chappaqua Irvington and at the Bronx Botanical Gardens.

The New Rochelle Farmers Market is brought to you by the Downtown Business Improvement District (BID) with support from the City of New Rochelle, Montefiore Hospital and Bulfamante Landscaping. Weekly market children’s events are part of the popular BID Family Days organized with the New Rochelle Public Library.

For further market information, call Pascale Le Draoulec at 914.806.3380 or e-mail at pascale.eatmywords@gmail.com. For information on the BID call Ralph DiBart at 914-960-1460 or email ralphdibart@rcn.com
