The City of New Rochelle is assessing the City’s parks and trails and developing a plan to ensure that all users have safe access to a park or trail within a 10 minute walk of their location. All residents, business owners and property owners interested in the accessibility of parks within the City of New Rochelle are welcome and encouraged to provide their insight through our parks survey. This process is being guided by the City with the assistance of planning consultants Barton & Loguidice (B&L). B&L will ultimately prepare an overall Parks Accessibility Plan which will assess the current accessibility of parks in New Rochelle, identify potential park partnerships to expand park development and programming, and raise resident awareness of the parks and recreational opportunities within the City.
This project has been made possible by the National Recreation and Park Association, the Trust for Public Land, and the Urban Land Institute. For more information contact the Department of Parks and Recreation at (914) 654-2087 or visit www.newrochelleny.com/parks.
