New Rochelle Parks and Recreation Partners with Volunteer New York! for Hudson Park Clean-Up Day

Volunteer New York! and the City of New Rochelle Parks and Recreation department will team up on Sunday, April 28 for a day of service to beautify Hudson Park.

This cleanup project is open to all New Rochelle community members interested in rolling up their sleeves for their community. Up to 110 can register at for one of two available afternoon volunteer shifts taking place from 1:00 – 4:00 P.M. Hudson Park is located at 1 Hudson Park Rd, New Rochelle, NY 10801.

Volunteers will help with painting park benches, trash pickup, beach cleanup, and helping to restore railing, pavilions and other public use installations. All volunteers are asked to register to participate – volunteers ages 5-14 must be accompanied by an adult. Group and team registration is also available.

 “I’m excited to once again partner with Volunteer New York! for this third annual New Rochelle cleanup,” said Parks & Recreation Commissioner Bill Zimmermann. “Hudson Park is a destination shared by countless community members thanks to the hub of Spring and Summer activities and events, sprawling scenic space and waterfront access it provides. Let’s volunteer, New Rochelle to keep our parks pristine for all!”

“April 28 is an opportunity to make a difference in New Rochelle and support one of its most cherished parks. As a community working together we can make the impossible, possible. That’s what volunteerism is all about,” said Alisa H. Kesten, Volunteer New York! Executive Director.

The 2019 New Rochelle Parks Cleanup Day is an annual opportunity that brings together neighbors, businesses and community leaders in a solidified effort to beautify one of New Rochelle’s many parks. It is one of a number of volunteer opportunities showcased, through Volunteer New Rochelle, a program partnership with Volunteer New York! that offers residents year-round opportunities to help and take action locally.  Details can be found on the New Rochelle page of the Volunteer New York! website Everyone is invited to search local volunteer opportunities or to call a volunteer placement specialist at 914-948-4452.
