City of New Rochelle Joins National “10-Minute Walk to a Park” Campaign
The City of New Rochelle has joined 133 other cities and towns across the United States in the "10-Minute Walk" parks advocacy campaign started by The Trust for Public Land, the National Recreation and Park Association, and the Urban Land Institute.
Research shows one in three people in the United States– more than 100 million people – don’t have a park within a 10-minute walk of home. The goal is to make sure all Americans live within a half-mile of a high-quality park or green space. As part of the initiative, Mayor Bramson joined mayors across the country in signing on to actively pursue the mission. The City’s 10-year capital budget makes a strong commitment to parks improvements.
