ICMA Presentation Marks 85th Anniversary of New Rochelle’s Council/Manager Government

In recognition of 85 years of Council/Manager form of government, the ICMA- International City/County Management Association- presented a proclamation to the City of New Rochelle on Tuesday, June 13. The certificate was presented by Meredith Robson, former VP of the ICMA and Village Manager of Ardsley.

New Rochelle adopted the City Manager form of government with a charter change in 1932 that remains until today. Since that time, fourteen men and two women have served as City Manager for New Rochelle.

Speakers for the presentation included Joan Silverstein of the New Rochelle Charter League, Monica Grey of the League of Women Voters, and City Historian Barbara Davis.
