The 50^th Anniversary of Hip Hop will be the most epic year in Hip Hop history.    Originating from the neighborhoods of the Bronx, NY to now spreading its impact globally, this phenomenon has embodied one of the most relevant human cultural impacts that this world has ever seen.   From music, dance, fashion and lifestyle, Hip-Hop has crossed racial, religious and gender groups and today is the most unifying force that brings people together.  New Rochelle, NY is not exempt from it’s influence on this culture.   New Rochelle, NY has proudly represented itself as trend setters, music contributors, and social influencers throughout this 50-year journey.  As a neighboring city to the origins of this culture, many of our community members watched the inception of hip-hop to the billion-dollar industry it has become over the past 50-years.  This presentation will highlight the early contributors of the culture in New Rochelle and the Westchester area, providing them the opportunity to be recognized for their contributions to this phenomenon.
