To obtain a permit, applicants must fill out a
General Application
(except LPG, see below), which will then be followed by an inspection.
Fire Department permits are required for the following:
Ammunition Storage (2-50 cases)
Blasting, Explosive Storage
Commercial Garage (1-25) or Commercial Garage (26 or more)
Public Garage (1-25) or Public Garage (26 or more)
Dip Tank / Spray Booth
Dry Cleaning Plant
Flammable Liquids I (more than 5 gals. Inside, or 10 gal. outside)
Flammable II / Combustible Liquids (more than 25 gals. Inside, or 60 gal. outside)
Flammable III / Combustible Liquids (more than 25 gals. Inside, or 60 gal. outside)
Hazardous Materials:
Corrosive Liquid. More than 55 gals.
Dangerous when Wet material (any amount)
Etiologic Material (any amount)
Flammable Gas (over 2,000 cubic feet)
Flammable Solid (any amount)
Nonflammable Gas (over 6,000 cubic feet)
Oxidizer (Over 50 Pounds)
Organic Peroxide (Over 10 Pounds)
Poison Gas (Any Amount)
Poison and Irritant (Any Amount)
Radioactive Material (Any Amount)
Industrial Ovens
LPG Storage (LPG Permit and 209u is required)
LPG Permit
Lumber Yard or Woodworking Plant
Self Service Gas Station
Welding and Cutting (If gas is piped through a permanently installed system or if cylinders exceed 750 cubic feet)
“Highlighted”
permits also require a
