Livable Communities Connection

What is a Livable Community?
Aging in-place can be facilitated by forming a livable community. A livable community combines multiple components to form an environment which is favorable to aging. These components include:
  • Adequate home design
  • Arts
  • Housing options
  • Parks and recreation
  • Safety and security
  • Well designed roads
  • Well-run community centers
The New Rochelle Livable Community Connection
The New Rochelle Office for the Aging in conjunction with United Hebrew has been designated the Livable Community Connection (LCC) in the southeast region of Westchester. Funded by the Westchester County Department of Senior Programs and Services and the Westchester Public / Private Partnership for Aging Services, the LCC will work to connect residents of New Rochelle with government officials, public and private agencies, and community resources to help them age in place.
