Firefighter Training
Training Division
The Training Division is responsible for all training conducted by the New Rochelle Fire Department This training can be academic, (in the classroom) or hands on (in the field). This training is to better prepare our firefighters for the numerous types of emergencies that we are called upon everyday to mitigate. This training starts in “probie” or recruit school.
This is a 15-week course geared toward strengthening the recruits body and mind in anticipation of the many challenges he/she will face on a daily basis. The environment that firefighters work in is ever changing, and the only way to keep up with the changes is good, realistic training.
Recruit Training includes the following topics:
