Beatrice "Bea" Kleinman Commissioner's Award

The Beatrice "Bea" Kleinman Commissioner’s Award honors individuals for their achievements and contributions through public and community service.

Bea Kleinman embodied these concepts. Generous and compassionate, she had a heart of gold. She provided for hundreds of youth in New Rochelle and was always ready to help others in need.

She helped found new services / programs and provided guidance and leadership to many organizations and families. She served as Chairperson of the New Rochelle Youth Bureau and was active in many other groupings / organizations.

The Beatrice Bea Kleinman Commissioner’s Award recognizes outstanding volunteers / philanthropists who give of themselves fully to our City’s youth. They are prime examples of the values of commitment and caring. Nominees for this award should demonstrate significant acts of generosity and kindness for New Rochelle’s youth. Mentoring, guidance, advocacy, and philanthropy are key elements for recipients of this award.
