2022: The City Council unanimously approved contracts with subconsultants to perform a Citywide Drainage Study that analyzed issues in the watershed districts located throughout New Rochelle. To more fully identify drainage problem locations, the City solicited input from property owners who have experienced severe flooding. A total of six drainage basin areas were reviewed: Burling Brook, Hutchinson, Pinebrook, Sheldrake River, Shoreline, and Stephenson Brook. The scope of work was to review City data and perform hydrologic analyses, leading to the development of recommendations for drainage improvements and the creation of a final report in 2023.
