Business Ambassador
For business owners the Business Ambassador is your first point of contact…
The goal of the Business Ambassador is to make businesses in New Rochelle more successful by providing assistance and direct communication between the City and business owners. The Business Ambassador fields concerns and issues of business owners and when possible provides assistance in resolving these concerns or directing owners to local and state agencies and organizations that can offer business assistance. This also includes assistance with permitting to start or operate a business.
Additionally, the Business Ambassador will work to promote local businesses to customers in New Rochelle and throughout Westchester. The Business Ambassador will organize New Rochelle business to business networking events and information sessions with local and state agencies and financial institutions that offer programs to businesses.
Retail and Student Housing Business Registration
The purpose of the Business Registration Program is to foster the growth of local businesses, attract new businesses to the City and to protect the health, safety and welfare of the individual and business citizens of the City of New Rochelle.
All retail businesses and all Student Housing businesses are required to register and all others are encouraged to do so.

Featured Business Program and New Downtown Resident Card
New Rochelle businesses that demonstrate a commitment to excellence and customer attraction are highlighted in the City’s Featured Business Program. As part of the City’s ambitious redevelopment plan, all New Rochelle businesses are invited to apply - at no cost – and will receive City support for advertising and co-marketing activities.
Featured Businesses are identifiable by a window decal that corresponds to an online map available on the City’s website and on the city-wide interactive Wi-Fi kiosks launching in early 2018. The decals are color-coded to four categories (Food / Dining, Arts / Entertainment, Retail and Services). Featured Businesses can also receive free access to online tools from Burbio.com and Buxton that further their own marketing reach to residents and visitors.

In a move that will drive visibility for and store traffic to New Rochelle'Featured Businesses, the City has launched a discount card to encourage new downtown residents to support the local economy.
“We want to ensure that New Rochelle’s unprecedented downtown growth benefits all of us,” said New Rochelle Mayor Noam Bramson. “These discount cards are a great way to introduce new residents to the outstanding businesses and restaurants in our community, so that their buying power boosts our economy, supports local entrepreneurs, and enhances our tax base.”
Through this card, new downtown residents will have access to discounts and special offers from each Featured Business, incentivizing them to explore New Rochelle’s diverse local dining, retail, service and entertainment offerings while simultaneously growing the customer base of each small business. New downtown residents are encouraged to ask their building management for the card.
