  • Street sweeping has eliminated 1360 cubic yards of debris from city streets.
  • Street waste collection baskets eliminated an estimated 9,000 cubic yards of debris.
  • Storm water catch basin cleaning program serviced 2953 basins.
  • Stream Floatable Debris Collection Device eliminated 30% of the floating debris from the City’s Drainage System. 25 cubic yards of floatables collected .
  • Inspection of stormwater outfalls into Long Island Sound completed.
  • Design completed for installing drain valves in Carpenters Pond and Bechmont Lake for future cleaning and flood mitigation.
  • Flood Mitigation/Natural Disaster Loss Reduction Plan developed to establish short and long term goals for responding to changing conditions of the natural and built environments, as well as the changing needs of the City.
  • Completed Phase II Storm Water Regulations Management Plan

  • Distribution of fact sheets on Storm Water Runoff and Citizen Tips on cleaning up streams, lakes and Long Island Sound distributed to Neighborhood Associations.
