Jared R. Rice

Jared R. Rice is a local product of the New Rochelle public school system; he graduated from New Rochelle High School in 1997. After high school, Jared received a basketball scholarship to Delaware State University in Dover, Delaware, from where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in political science. Jared subsequently attended North Carolina Central University School of Law in Durham, North Carolina where he obtained his Juris Doctor degree in 2004.
When Jared moved back to New York after law school he joined his mother, Gail B. Rice and his father, J. Roger Rice in the New Rochelle law firm of Rice and Rice, Attorneys at Law. His younger brother Jordan, also a graduate of North Carolina Central University School of Law, joined the firm upon his graduation in 2006. In January of 2010, his mother left the firm to become a full time judge here in the City of New Rochelle.
Most recently, Jared was elected as a New Rochelle City Council Member representing District Three; he took office on January 1, 2011. Jared takes great pride in the tremendous responsibility of representing the diverse constituency of the district.
Jared is married to his high school sweetheart Jasmine. They are the proud parents of a young daughter, Jocelyn.
