1. APPLICATION
* Obtain TAX MAP BLOCK and LOT NUMBERS from Assessor's Office (914) 654-2054 and put them on the application form
* ON BACK PAGE OF FORM: Obtain a Department of Public Works Signature (for new buildings only)

2. SUBMIT A COPY OF SURVEY (not required for interior renovation/alteration)
(OR SITE PLAN OR PLOT PLAN on face of proposed construction plans, drawn by an Architect or Engineer)

3. SUBMIT THREE (3) COPIES OF DETAILED PLANS for proposed construction, signed and sealed by a Registered Architect or Professional Engineer (registered in the State of New York)

4. Application for permits to install equipment such as HVAC, SPRINKLER SYSTEMS, DRY CLEANING, MECHANICAL VENTS, FUEL TANKS, ETC., shall include three (3) copies of catalog cut showing equipment specifications and recommended method of installation along with #3 above. Sprinkler, Ansul System, Fuel Tanks must be filed with FIRE DEPARTMENT (914) 654-2212.

5. APPLICATION FEE - BASED ON ESTIMATED COST OF TOTAL CONSTRUCTION JOB
* FIRST $1,000 of estimated cost of construction $ 90.00
* EACH ADDITIONAL $1,000 OR part thereof:
DWELLING (1 FAM. & 2 FAM.) 6.00
OTHER 10.00

* AMENDMENT FEE is $90 (cost of construction is increased), PLUS $8 residential per thousand or $10 per thousand for commercial

* CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY is $60 for residential and $100 for commercial

* LEGALIZATION FEE (for work already performed without a permit) $1,500

6. CONTRACTORS INFORMATION FORM - can be submitted with Building Permit Application, but MUST be submitted BEFORE building permit is issued.

7. CONTRACTORS INSURANCE COVERAGE REQUIRED (must be filed with each application)

A. Workman's Compensation
B. (DBL) New York State Disabilities Benefits
C. Bureau of Buildings/City of New Rochelle, 515 North Avenue, New Rochelle, New York to be named as Certificate Holder on insurance certificate.
D. Copy of WESTCHESTER COUNTY HOME IMPROVEMENT LICENSE (required for residential work only).
