“It was an honor to be selected,” said City Manager Charles B. Strome, III. “This web site redesign improves our delivery of local government services and continues our commitment to provide as much information as possible to our residents and visitors. It will be a valuable tool for City staff as well.”
The total for design and development of the site and two years of free hosting, valued at over $65,000, was provided at no charge to the City. The City’s last web redesign was in 2001.
Using the latest in website technology, the CivicPlus team worked with the Public Information Office and City staff to produce a site that is user-friendly, attractive, and easy to navigate. Drop-down menus show expanded offerings and a robust “search” feature scans documents and forms within the site that contain the word or phrase that was entered. RSS feeds will allow users to receive automatic updates when new content is published, and the Emergency Alert and News and Announcement features will display pertinent information. Finally, the CivicPlus content management system enables City staff to quickly and easily update the site, resulting in more up-to-date and relevant content.
