NRCA Gallery Presents "Up Jumped Spring & Other Weather Conditions"


The current exhibit at the New Rochelle Council on the Arts Rotunda Gallery @ City Hall is "Up Jumped Spring & Other Weather Conditions." The title is inspired by the iconic Jazz standard written by composer and trumpet player Freddie Hubbard. The exhibit focuses on the impact of Global Warming and the extremes in environmental conditions occurring as a result of climactic changes. Themes of rejuvenation, rebirth and renewal are also represented in the works. The artists exhibiting in the show are from: New Rochelle, Mamaroneck, Mt. Vernon, City Island, the Bronx, Elmsford, Forest Hills, White Plains, Mohegan Lake, Katonah and Larchmont. The exhibit begins June 12 and runs through July 31, the opening reception is Tuesday, June 13 from 5pm - 7m.
